A Critique of modern surveillance-culture.

Hidden transparency (video made in Adobe AfterEffects and PremierPro).

"There is a kind of irony or hypocrisy in the extensive efforts to keep the all-seeing eye concealed from sight." - Steve Mann 2016
Based upon the theories of the sociologist Erwin Goffman and observations done at a public transit-area in the danish city Aarhus, we wanted to create a low-resolution screen on a toilet building as an investigation into he behaviour of people in public transit ereas. Further, we wanted to investigate the notion of surveillance in public spaces.
The result became the concept of "Hidden Transparancy": a mirror with a motion-detecting camera on top, that registres when people walk or stand in near proximity of the mirror and motions-sensoring camera. When the camera sense motion an eye that tracks the movement of the users' interactions appear.
Bear in mind that this video is a concept-video made in Adobe AfterEffects and not a real installment.
My part of the project mainly consisted of making the video-effects and video-mock-up in Adobe After Effects, as well as the general development and idea-generation for the concept.
